The Distaff is a 1 1/2-mile race for fillies and mares that is run over a firm turf course in 1:35. The field includes fillies and mares who have won five of seven races this year, four of them in graded stakes.

The Distaff Handicap is a 1 1/4-mile race for fillies and mares that is run over a fast track in 1:08. In the field are 10 fillies and mares, including a three-year-old who broke her maiden in her second start in the Distaff. She will be ridden by stablemate and Hall of Famer Todd Pletcher, who has a 4-for-4 record with the filly.

The Distaff will be run as the first of four curtain calls next month for the six-year-old daughter of Pulpit, who has won twice this year, including the Grade 1 Mary B. Synder Stakes at Belmont Park Aug. 3. The Distaff is a 1 1/8-mile event for fillies and mares.

Gray, a bay filly by Kitten's Joy out of the Delaware-bred Missy Lute, overcame a walking start to win an allowance race over the same course and distance on Feb. 26. She was third in the seven-furlong Maiden Special Stakes the next week.
