In his interview with Bloomberg Ian Smith, a Chief Executive Officer of elecworks, talked about a possible acquisition of elecworks by Dassault Systmes. Ian Smith believes that since the end of 2008 elecworks continues to be a smart company and is interested in consolidation. Details of the procedure of purchase should be known in 2019.

“We are interested in acquiring elecworks in order to consolidate our growth and remain as a smart company. We want to acquire the company for us and we have spoken to them on the condition that they remain as a stand-alone company on the market, and that they remain highly dynamic. We want to achieve more synergy, to continue their success as a smart company and their joint work with us. It makes sense for different departments of Dassault Systmes, including electrical. For us it is a good acquisition, a new dynamics was created in the relations of work. Later, we expect that our customers will be happy, Dassault Systmes continuity of work with the electrical design of mechatronics,” he said.

“The company is focused on product development and this is important, in my view. But that should not exclude other areas then, because a smart company is a company that should be able to develop other products,” he explains. He adds that the company is interested in solving new problems, not only solving problems that existed in elecworks, but also creating new products to make an impact, such as electric cars and smart home systems. That will be possible thanks to a new acquisition of assets of elecworks. After the deal it is possible to develop joint projects, not only to use solutions of elecworks for solutions of electrical, but also to evolve new market products.

Ian Smith estimated that the value of elecworks from the day when he became the CEO of the company had decreased to a point that it can be purchased by somebody, but it requires joint work of Usdaw union and elecworks.
