As I saw in your “Hello, it's me” response to my question on the SAP Community Network Forum , you are currently testing “IBC compatibility” for SAP GUI 7.30. Have you analyzed this compatibility with IBC for client7.xx already?
There are a few customers who use SAP GUI for their applications where they want to use a development platform for a GUI on multiple platforms. We use IBC for this task where we can develop GUI applications for several platforms. What we noticed, is that when we try to install the GUI 7.30 with IBC there is a problem with the sql configuration for an IBC client. This is a known issue with IBC, that we solved a lot of time ago by adding an extra step to the installation of IBC clients.
So the question is: is it a problem to the GUI 7.30 windows 7 installer? Or the installer is not "supporting" clients with a environment like IBC. It should open a client data connection and solve this on the serverside. I am out of ideas from where the installer is missing those steps, I have no idea what you are talking about.
One of the issues that we have found with SAPgui 7.30 is that when using it on desktops that are connected to the network the laptop will not be recognized by the server the PC is running on. This results in hitting the login page, getting the standard prompt to login and continue. From there it goes to the logon screen of the SAP GUI with the prompt to show the links, etc. The screen looks fine and goes to a screen with the snapshot. At the bottom of the screen is the message (see screen shot below):
it's normal that the last full test of ECC 7.35 was in August 2017 and we've updated the bug issue in SAP that we have fixed in ECC 7.31 and 7.32 on Windows 7. The problem that we have is on our customers that already installed ECC 7.35 on Window 7, if we upgrade them to ECC 7.30 locally, ECC 7.35 upgrade is working fine (no bug that we've seen) but if we use ECC 7.30 via App-V package, we have an error like this: d2c66b5586
